Sand Detection Technology operates on the principle of acoustic impact sensing. As sand particles travel through the wellbore and strike the surface of the tool’s high-frequency sensor, they generate mechanical impulses.

These impulses vary in amplitude based on particle size and velocity — larger grains produce stronger signals, while smaller ones leave lighter traces.

The tool records these acoustic events during the logging run, allowing post-analysis to identify sandproducing intervals and assess the intensity of particle flow.

By comparing signal density and amplitude at different depths, operators can evaluate erosion risk zones and define optimal production settings.
